Serious riot at the Surulere axis after Lagos Police beat, tear has disabled athletes resulting in a riot by the athletes and their sympathisers.
Some of the disabled athletes had thronged the road to protest unpaid salaries by the government but men of the Nigeria police force in response resorted to using tear gas and man-handling the protesters.
According to eye witness, the protest was a peaceful one until the police officers reacted with show of force which was described as unnecessary.
