Hoodlums posing as protesters on Monday, broke into a commercial bank, caused substantial damage and looted everything in sight.
The branch of the modern bank is located in Tudun Wada, Kaduna South Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The spokesperson for the State Police Command, Mansir Hassan, verified this information during a phone call with Channels Television.
He stated that the perpetrators broke into the bank, stealing valuables and damaging vehicles in the premises.
However, Hassan, an Assistant Superintendent of Police, refuted claims that the violent protesters had taken a police-armoured personnel carrier at Tudun Wada.
He stated that the driver of the armoured vehicle managed to navigate through the group of demonstrators who had climbed onto the vehicle, as it was carrying live ammunition and could not have used excessive force against the crowd.
Additionally, law enforcement also verified the destruction of a security patrol vehicle owned by the Kaduna State Vigilance Service in Rigasa, Igabi Local Government Area, as well as the burning of the Zaria office of the Kaduna State Traffic Law Enforcement Agency (KASTLEA) by criminals.
