Here Comes the New DG, World Trade Organisation, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala !

Finally, Ngozi Okonjo_Iweala is World Trade Organisation DG.

A woman of many firsts. She was Nigeria’s first female Finance Minister, First African World Bank Managing Director (Operation), First Female WTO-DG, First African to head the WTO.

According to the World Trade body,

WTO@wto·WTO members took the decision to appoint @NOIweala at a special meeting of the General Council, following a selection process that included eight candidates from around the world #WTODG“

Nigeria has it all ! We can indeed be great !

Earlier in the day, international news media waited anxiously to announce her appointment:

News coming in from Reuters says Nigeria’s Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala is set to be named new DG of the World Trade Organisation.

The announcement will very likely be made today, Monday the 15th of February according to the news platform.
