High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, 7 Family Members Test Positive to Covid19

High Chief Raymond Dokpesi, daughter-in-law and 6 other members of his family have tested positive to coronavirus disease.

This brings to 8, the total number of the Dokpesi family that have tested to the dreaded virus considering that his son, Raymond Dokpesi Jnr had tested positive on Monday.

Contact tracing began immediately the younger Dokpesi was found to be  positive leading to the discovery of the 7 other victims.

Dokpesi Jnr is the current chairman of the board of Daar Communications. All victims were tested by health workers from the National Centre for disease control (NCDC).

Reports say that all 8 victims have been evacuated to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital Gwagwalada isolation centre. Dokpesi Jnr had earlier been admitted at the centre.

The development sparks fears of the fate of the media house.

However, Chief Raymond Dokpesi who spoke to newsmen on the arrival of the health workers from the NCDC said he felt perfectly fine.

According to him, “I am quite ok, I feel very well.”  Observers say that he actually looked fine giving an indication that he is asymptomatic.

Meanwhile, members of staff of Daar Communications who have had contact with the family’s index case have also been tested.

The Daar Communications premises has also been fumigated to avoid further spread.

The communications outfit comprises Africa Independent Television (AIT), Ray power 100.5 FM Abuja and Raypower 100.5 FM.
