Covid19 Outbreak: UNILAG Holds Emergency Meeting

Hopes Dashed Again As UNILAG Postpones 2020/2021 Post-UTME Screening

News - Women's Perspective

Nigeria’s prospective undergraduates to the University of Lagos (UNILAG) have had their hopes dashed again with the latest post-UTME screening announcement.

This is in view of the fact that the screening exercise has been postponed indefinitely.

UNILAG management had fixed the screening date for between Monday, 30th November and Saturday, 12th December.

An initial postponement according to the institution’s management was due to a the change in the date of the 2020 Senior School Certificate Examination of the National Examination Council (NECO).

At that time, the management of the university said that “the exercise was rescheduled following the rescheduling of the 2020 SSCE of NECO

“It is also in compliance with the directive from the Joint Admission and Matriculations Board (JAMB) that all institutions should conduct their post-UTME screening exercise after the completion of the 200 NECO examination.

The latest announcement is contained in a statement today titled ‘2020/2021 Post-UTME Screening: Notice of Postponement.’

The press statement:

“The university wishes to inform all prospective candidates of the 2020/2021 Post-UTME Screening exercise earlier slated for Monday, November 30 to Saturday, December 12, 2020, that the screening has been postponed.

“New dates will be communicated as soon as possible. Any inconvenience occasioned by this postponement is highly regretted.”
