A teenage housewife, Aisha Muhammed has been arrested for inserting a hot iron rod into the private part of her teenage daughter.
The 18-year-old woman was nabbed on Friday, July 2 according to the Adamawa State Police Command who report that the incident happened in Wuro Patuji village, Mubi South Local Government Area of the state.
According to the police spokesman, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, Aisha is the second wife to the 5-year-old’s father.
He added that the woman took the curious disciplinary approach because the little girl urinated on her bed.
In the words of Nguroje, “The Adamawa State Police Command on 01/07/2021 apprehended the 18-year-old female suspect for torturing and maltreating her 5-year-old stepdaughter.
“The suspect, Aisha Mohammed, a resident of Wuro Patuji village, Mubi South Local Government Area, took advantage of the baby following the divorce of her mother that brought her under the care and custody of her stepmother.
“Investigation reveals the suspect, being the second wife of the victim’s father, committed the offence by using hot iron (rod) to torture and inflict inflict injury on the private parts of the baby because she discharged urine on the bed.
The police spokesperson added that, “The wicked stepmother was arrested by the police in Mubi South Local Government Area following a report received from Aisha Abdullahi (mother of the victim) and Barrister Khadija Nasir, a female lawyer.”
On his part, the Adamawa State Police Commissioner, CP Aliyu Adamu Alhaji commended the umbrella body of female lawyers, FIDA for for exposing the malicious act.
He also called for careful investigation into the matter as the little girl is also undergoing medical treatment.
