A housewife identified as Jecinta Uloma-Ibe, on Thursday, dragged her brother-in-law, Nnaemeka Magnus-Aguwa before a Kaduna State High Court over her late sister’s N14.2 million inheritance.
The plaintiff also sued Zenith Bank for refusing to transfer the money to her as next of kin of the deceased.
The plaintiff’s counsel, Yakubu Musa prayed the court to order the bank to release the money to his client.
Magnus-Agunwa, the third defendant who was represented by Samuel Nwadigo moved a motion through his counsel, Oteiko Asekome to direct that the money be put in an account belonging to the deceased until the proceedings are over.
He insisted that the deceased, Florence Ngozi-Odor had 2 children who are naturally her inheritors and not her sister.
Counsel to Zenith Bank, Raymond Emeto said they would take the money anywhere the court directs.
Another application was made by Charles Ogidi for one Victor Odor, brother of the deceased to be joined in the case with claims that he was the real next of kin to the deceased and not the plaintiff.
On his part, Justice Edward Andow has adjourned the case till the 11th of January for hearing.
