A video that emerged on Friday afternoon shows Lagosians scrambling for free tubers of Yam Central Lagos.
Eyewitnesses say that a kindhearted Muslim decided to assuage the hunger of members of the public after the day’s Jummah prayers.
He is said to have arrived the scene with a truckload of yams and had a tough time getting people to queue as the crowd surged towards the boot to grab as many as they could.
His aides then decided to toss the food item, one tuber at a time to the hungry crowd.
Some aides who recognized close friends and family hauled bags full of yams to them.
