‘How Two Cousins Faked the Kidnapping of One’ – Delta Police PRO (video)

Two cousins are currently in police net in Delta State, Nigeria for faking the kidnapping of one of them.

The older cousinLawrence Larry said he lurred the younger one, Nelson with the promise of buying him a PlayStation 4 if he visited him in Warri.

The excited 20-year-old, a student in Abraka immediately set out to visit Jerry Lawrence in the city. The latter had advised him not to disclose his trip to anyone.

On arrival at the apartment, Lawrence revealed that he had financial challenges and needed Nelson’s cooperation to get money out of his father. He agreed. They then chained and blindfolded Nelson, beat him up thoroughly leaving gaping wounds on his body and sent the video to the Nelson’s parents demanding for the sum of N50 million in Bitcoin as ransom.

The family was however, only able to pay N5 million in Bitcoin.

The story went viral in the family group chat and the police was invited. Both young men, who are members of the group chat, monitored conversations and got scared when the police closed in on them. The kidnapper then sent the younger sibling, Nelson to Calabar.

Lawrence said that prior to recent events, he had lived with the family for over 11 years. He described Nelson’s dad as a father even if they are cousins.

Nelson whom the father said is his only son, according to SP Bright Edafe, confirmed that Lawrence has so far spent N2 million out of the N5 million ransom without giving him anything.

SP Edafe urged parents to spend time training their children and monitoring their activities when they are young otherwise, the repercussions will be return to haunt them.
