His Royal Majesty, Oba Saheed Elegushi of Ikateland, is reportedly set to wed a new wife, an Edo-born princess identified as Tonya Lawani.
The incoming Olori who already has a son from a previous marriage, is said to be a wealthy woman and the CEO OF the SEAL Group – one of the fastest growing conglomerates in Nigeria.
The soon-to-be bride is also said to own a sprawling mansion in the most expensive estate in Africa, Banana Island in Lagos.
Reports add that the princess is pregnant for the king and will give birth to the royal baby soon.
Tonya was conspicuously present during Oba Elegushi’s 45th birthday celebration in November 2021. She also attended the 70th birthday celebration of the monarch’s mother in May.
Recall that in March, Oba Saheed Elegushi lost his only son and heir apparent to the throne (from his second wife, Queen Hadiza). The young prince was just one year, seven months old when he died.
Only three months ago, the monarch celebrated his third anniversary with Olori Hadiza. The king took to social media to share endearing thoughts about her.
He prayed that “Allah continues to keep us together”. Elegushi married Hadiza, the Kano-born daughter of a renowned politician, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai in May 2020. They had a Nikkai in Abuja.
