A huge lion was brought in live over the weekend to grace the burial ceremony of a popular Igbo high chief.
The funeral of businessman, Timothy Anyiakaudu Egwuh of Ebe village in Anambra state caused a lot of reactions as many guests feared the chances of the wild animal breaking loose.
The burial ceremony took place on the 1st of May at Ukpor in Nnewi South Local Government Area of the state with the caged lion was put on display.
According to the igbo tradition, Egwuh during his lifetime was popularly known by his chieftaincy title, Agu Ndi Igbo.
Chuks Ezekwe, who shared the video noted that the deceased’s family decided to honour his title by bringing the caged lion to the burial.
Expectedly, the unusual development sparked mixed reactions on the social media many people condemning the idea.
