New York City is currently under water as hurricane Ida wrecks havoc across the the city.
The Mayor, on Thursday, declared a state of emergency after torrential rain caused heavy flooding resulting in destruction, displacement of residents and a number of fatalities.
A trail ban has also be been imposed until 5:00am, Friday. In an emergency alert sent by government, to residents, all non-emergency vehicles have been ordered to stay off the roads while subway lines were also suspended due to the dangerous flooding.
The National weather service has also advised everyone to stay off the roads.
The Metropolitan Transit Authority website announced that the only “7” line station Island Raily were operating but with delays.
“We are enduring an historic weather event tonight with record breaking rain across the city, brutal flooding and dangerous conditions on our roads.

Speaking with CNN, de Blasio said that, “We will have a tough few hours coming up till the rain get out of here.
“I have never seen this much rainfall this quickly. It is absolutely astounding … We are taking three inches, four inches in an hour. unbelievable accumulation. “
“The rain was far more than anyone really expected,” and left the region in “a very dire situation.”
“We can take all the precautions in advance, and we did deploy our assets to be on the ground in anticipation, but mother nature will do whatever she wants, and she is really angry tonight,”

The New York City Fire Department said that rescuers have been removing people from flooded roadways and subways across New York City.
Equally devastated are Louisiana, New Jersey and Maryland.
