A 40-year-old woman has been hospitalised after her husband brutally attacked with a machete on the head for denying him sex.
The incident happened at Misaro village in Siaya County of Kenya after which the woman, Judith Anyago was rushed to Busia County Referral Hospital.
Judith said she was forced to deny her husband conjugal rights because he is alleged to be HIV-positive.
She also accused her husband of having extramarital affairs, particularly after discovering condoms and female undergarments that did not belong to her in his trouser.
Rose Kwena, the victim’s nurse, confirmed her patient’s condition, saying that doctors are currently managing her well but will determine the extent of injuries after a CT scan.
Judith’s brother-in-law Festo Anyango Odhiambo, condemned the action of his sibling.
He expressed disappointment in what his brother Jackton Opondo did, adding that they had scheduled a family meeting to resolve the squabbles between the couple.
The Assailant’s family has also urged law enforcement to find and apprehend the perpetrator, whom they describe as a dangerous man.
