Husband of Late Osinachi Speaks From Police Custody

Peter Nwachukwu, husband of late gospel singer Osinachi sas denied the domestic violence allegations he has been accused of.

The singer who has ministered in several churches died on Friday after allegedly being a coma and on life support for five days.

He colleagues and family members adduce course of her death to the violent assaults she received from her husband.

Fellow gospel singers, staff and children of late confirmed the allegations, accusing Peter Nwachukwu of  domestic violence and maltreatment.

Before her death, the lady with a sonorous voice Osinachi, who was a lead singer at the Dunamis International Headquarters, Abuja,

Peter Nwachukwu was immediately arrested by the police after the younger brother of the deceased singer reported the matter, leading to an investigation which has commenced at the police command.

Speaking from police custody, Peter Nwachukwu said his late wife has been battling an illness since November last year.

He added that, he first took her to Federal Medical Center (FMC), later to Gwagwalada General hospital, and then to National hospital, where she finally died.

He, however, failed to disclose the nature of her illness.

ollowing his confession, Mr Nwachukwu was led in handcuffs and taken to the house to provide evidence of the hospitals he claimed to have taken his deceased wife to for treatment.

An autopsy has also been carried out on the late singer’s corpse to ascertain the real cause of her death.

The autopsy became necessary after the late singer’s husband, denied being responsible for her death, or any wrongdoing.

While the police awaits the autopsy test results, Kemi Filani reports Mr Nwachukwu has been transferred to the force headquarters in Abuja for further interrogations.
