Doyin Okupe, former Aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan has recounted how he became physically incapacitated during a recent illness.
He said the ailment was deliberating to the extent that his wife had to assist him with basic functions like moving to the toilet.
He stated that his condition deteriorated so severely that he experienced episodes of collapse, bone marrow failure, and pneumonia which caused part of his lungs to collapse. Despite the severity of his condition, he expressed immense gratitude for his miraculous recovery.
Okupe said in an interview with Channels TV, ”When we call upon God, he will answer us. Even when we go through the fire or we go through the storm, he is with us.
And remember what the Bible says, even though I walk in the valley of the shadow of death. Your rod and your staff comfort me. I literally walked through the shadow of death.
These were stages during this period, that I was totally prostrate. I could not do anything, my wife would have to take me to the toilet from the bed. It was that bad. In one or two occasions I actually collapsed, I had bone marrow failure and I had even the side of my lungs totally collapsed due to pneumonia. It was a bad situation but almighty God saved me.”
