Edijala John Ephie has celebrated in style after graduating from the university 12 years after he gained admission.
The ex-student of Afe Babalola University of Ado-Ekiti (ABUAD), Ekiti, took to Twitter now X to share his experience.
Sharing photos on his X account, @Ephis_xiv, he wrote:
“Yea Yea, I just graduated after 12 years solely because of that Sunday night. Nice one ABUAD. This was my Supposed Crime; “Chatting on Phone with an ‘alleged’ Riot Culprit” Not like I was involved in the riot directly or indirectly. But because a text from a previous day was found on my phone. N.B.- I was sent to Federal Prison Ado Ekiti for this ‘Offence’. For 3 weeks.
“ABUAD students’ riot in February 2016 is a night no student who was in ABUAD then can ever forget.
Sharing a copy of the expulsion letter, Ephie said, “

“Lol the Chief Magistrate that presided over our case said, I quote “So you guys want to kill my daddy”
Next thing, man’s sending under 18’s and ‘innocent to the core’ people to Federal Prison.
“To clear the air, I didn’t graduate from ABUAD, I was told not to return to the school premises anymore. For reasons best known to them I was fronted as a criminal.
I was axed out!.
“I got into a new school; Western Delta University, Delta State. I graduated this year.“
