The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye insists he will continue to use Twitter as he is operating within the United Nations Declaration of Human Rights.
He made his position known on Monday after the Federal Government of Nigeria banned Twitter in Nigeria for deleting President Muhammadu Buhari’s tweet considered as hateful to a section of the country.
The Presidency slammed a ban on the microblogging platform and instructed the country’s telecoms companies to deactivated access to all subscribers.
Not done, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami ordered the prosecution of anyone found using the app by any means.
The action of the government has been criticised by international nations’ leaders and missions as well as many local ruling party members
Earlier today, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry insisted he will not be complying with the directive as he has missions in over 100 countries and spreads the gospel to church members via social media, including he bird app.

In his own reaction, Pastor Adeboye equally said he will continue to use Twitter as he has followers in over 170 countries.
He added that he would not be contravening any law as he is operating in accordance with Article 19 of the UN declaration of of human rights.
In his words, “The Redeemed Christian Church of God is domiciled in more than 170 nations and territories. The tweets here are in accordance to article 19 of the UN universal declaration of Human Rights.”
