Popular Ifa priest, Chief Ifayemi Elebuibon has advised the Ooni of Ife and other monarchs on what to do to avoid divorce.

He gave the advise in the wake of news of the collapse of the marriage between the Ooni, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi and wife, queen_silekunolanaomi_ogunwusi

The queen announced on Thursday, that she was ending her marriage to the first class monarch.

The mother of one, stated that, “I, at this moment, announce that I shall no longer be referred to as wife to the Ooni of Ife or as Queen of Ile-Ife but as the Queen of the people and mother of my adorable Prince.”

In his reaction to the development, Chief Elebuibon told journalists in an interview that marital issues between couples were usually very difficult for outsiders to understand deeply.

The priest added that Ifa oracle should always be consulted as the divine directive was key to the success of any marriage.

According to him, “Today’s Yoruba monarchs should follow tradition while choosing partners. But anything that has to do with marriage, whether for a monarch or an ordinary person, no one can be perfect or wise enough to completely avoid mistakes.

“It is only God that can make one choose rightly. Yoruba monarchs must consult te oracle before choosing wives. They should not allow modernity to dictate who to marry to them.

“Saying God has directed me to choose you, may not be enough.”

The Ifa priest urged the king and the queen not to allow family to meddle too much in their union saying that that too much involvement may cause disrespect.
