Social commentator, Reno Omokri, has vowed to fight with Atiku Abubakar, the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if he picks his Labour Party counterpart, Peter Obi, as his running mate in 2027.
Reno, a former presidential aide, in a post he made on his verified X account on Friday, suggested that Obi is lobbying to get the VP slot of the PDP for the next presidential election.
The former Atiku ally vowed to stop supporting him if he goes through with the idea.
Omokri wrote, “As much as I love and respect Waziri Atiku, if he gives him the VP slot he is now begging for, Waziri Atiku Abubakar, whom I love and respect so much, will automatically become my enemy, and I will fight him!”
Recently, Obi has visited Atiku and some key PDP chieftains, sparking speculation about a potential coalition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Obi was a member of the PDP until 2022 when he defected to the Labour Party to pursue his presidential ambition.
He came third behind Atiku in the February 23 presidential election, which was won by Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress.
