Some youths stormed the Government House and the streets of Port Harcourt, to drum support for Governor Simi Fubara, who has been served a notice of impeachment by twenty-four out of 32 members of Rivers Assembly.
Rivers caught the spotlight on Sunday night when the State House of Assembly was set ablaze by unknown persons amidst impeachment plot against Fubara.
Photos and videos show the governor also being hit with water cannons and tear gas by yet to be confirmed agents.
Another report shows that security has been beefed up at the Rivers Assembly complex, with many youths seen at the venue.
The assembly has suspended the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Edison Ehie, and four other lawmakers, who are said to be strong allies of the governor.
