The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has presented the Governor-elect of Anambra State, Professor Charles Chukwuma Soludo with a certificate of return.
Also presented with a certificate of a return at the event which held on Friday, is the Deputy Governor-elect, Dr Gilbert Onyekachukwu Ibezim.
The presentation ceremony took place in Anambra and was chaired by the Resident Electoral Commissioner in Anambra State, Nwachukwu Orji at the Commission’s office in Awka.
The event is coming after Soludo was declared winner of the election which took place on Saturday and Tuesday.
He contested under the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA).
The former central bank Governor won the election with 112,229 votes to defeat Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 53,807 votes and Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress with 43,285 votes.
Senator Ifeanyi Uba of the Young Progressives Party polled 21,161 votes to come a distant 4th.
The election has been adjudged as free and fare across the world with the UK and the US sending in congratulatory messages and commending the electoral body for the conduct of the election.
