The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the collection centres for Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The electoral body announced earlier that collection of the PVCs at registration areas/wards across Nigerian states would begin on Friday, January 6, 2023.
The announcement is contained in a statement issued earlier on Thursday by the INEC National Commissioner and Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye.
Okoye called on registered voters to immediately collect their PVCs ahead of the polls he added on Thursday in Abuja that collection at the ward level would end on Jan. 15.
“The devolution of PVC collection to the wards commences tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 6 2023, and all validly registered voters who are yet to collect their PVCs are encouraged to seize the opportunity of the devolution to the wards to do so.
“After Jan. 15, the exercise will revert to the Local Government Offices of the Commission until Jan. 22.
“All eligible and valid registrants can collect their PVCs from 9:00am to 3:00pm daily, including Saturdays and Sundays.
“All those that applied for replacement of lost, damaged, or defaced PVCs can collect their PVCs at the Registration Area/wards during this period, and the same thing applies to those that registered prior to the 2019 general election and are yet to collect their cards,” the statement said.
The guide members of the public, the Lagos State chapter of the commission on Friday released a table showing centres in each Local government area where electorates can obtain their cards ahead of the February 25 polls.
