The Nigerian Senate has resolved to set an appointment to meet with President Muhammadu behind closed doors to discuss the insecurity facing the nation.
It has also mandated the joint committee on Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security to engage the Foreign Affairs Minister, Geoffrey Onyeama, National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno, Minister of Defence, Major general Bashir Salihi Magashi (Rtd) and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmad Rufai Abubakar, on the regional implications of the recent development in Chad.
The senators mandated the Joint Committees on Foreign Affairs; Defence and National Security to engage the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama, National Security Adviser, Babagana Munguno, Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Salihi Magashi (Rtd) and the Director-General of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), Ahmed Rufai Abubakar, on the regional implications of the recent development in Chad.
The upper chamber also agreed to summon the Service Chiefs to brief lawmakers on steps they are taking to address insecurity in Nigeria.
