IVD Arraigned on Allegations of Killing His Wife Bimbo

Celebrity auto dealer, Ikechukwu Ogbonna known as IVD was on Monday, arraigned before an Ikeja High Court by the Lagos State Government for alleged involuntary manslaughter of his wife Abimbola.

He however, pleaded not guilty.

The state counsel Adeshola Bello said the alleged offence contravened Section 222 of the Criminal Laws of Lagos State, 2015 but noted that there was a mix-up in the date it was was committed.

According to her, “We have on record Oct.10, 2022, but the actual date of the incident was October 12. We pray for the indulgence of the court to make amendment on the date.”

The defense counsel Victor Ogunde (SAN) sought for bail for the defendant following his arraignment.

Ogunde added that the suit against the defendant was with a different number.

Justice Modupe Nicole-Clay questioned the defence for bringing a bail application despite the defendant being on bail since March 1.

Nicole-Clay thereafter adjourned until March 30 for the commencement of trial.

Abimbola was said to have died as a result of the fire incident that occurred at the couple’s home on October 12, 2022.
