Jagaban Called for End to #EndSARS, Youths Respond

#Endsars News - Women's Perspective

The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu popularly called Jagaban Bogu has pleaded with the #EndSARS protesters to end the protests.

According to him, they have sent their message. It is now time to watch the government’s reaction.

He agrees that the quest to end Police brutality is perfectly in order. Jagaban says that Nigeria must become a society where those paid with tax-payers’ money actually protect the payers.

For him, the youths want the country’s leaders “to build a nation where peace and justice shall reign” in line with part of the lyrics of our National Anthem.

He said that “society confronts challenges such as injustice, impunity, corruption, dictatorship and are forced to respond in resistance and struggle for emancipation.”

For Jagaban, the result for such resistance is “the triumph of justice over injustice, liberty over tyranny and right over wrong thus enabling the society to be elevated to a higher level of good, accountable, responsible and responsive governance.”

Asiwaju made his views known in a lengthy tweet earlier today titled: ‘#ENDSARS PROTESTS – THE REMEDY FOR NATIONAL MALADIES IS MORE, NOT LESS, DEMOCRACY’

According to him:

#EndSARS protesters were quick to point Jagaban to the bogus promises he made while campaigning for Buhari in 2014.

In a tweet, #A New Nigeria listed them as:

  • Nigeria will be swimming in crude oil and fuel in 6 months
  • Buhari will pay N5,000 to all jobless Nigerians
  • 3,000,000 Nigerian youths will be employed every year.

Other reactions show that Jagaban’s views did not go with the protesting youths who are suspicious of his intentions.
