JAMB statement on the recently concluded Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) was today issued by its Head of Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin.

Dr Benjamin cautioned candidates and the general public to disregard the cut-off marks currently making the rounds of social media platforms.

In his statement today, 5th April that no cut-off mark has been agreed, adopted or fixed for the 2020 examination and admissions.

Benjamin added that the JAMB stakeholders’ meeting has been fixed for the 15th and the 16th of April.

According to him, it is only at that meeting that a decision will be taken on the cut-off marks. The meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu.

Kindly disregard any cut-off marks paraded by fraudsters. It is fake news.

“Cut-off marks are decided at a policy meeting chaired by the Hon Minister o Education with all heads of tertiary institutions, CEOs of regulatory agencies in education and all other critical stakeholders in attendance.

This meeting has been fixed for June 15th ad 16th, 2020, all things being equal.

Until this meeting is held, nobody can talk about cut-off marks. Nigerians are advised to disregard any such marks being paraded.”

1.9 millinon candidates participated in this year’s computer-based standardized examination.
