Joe Biden, former US Vice President and Democratic Presidential Nominee and his wife Jill Biden have tested negative for covid19.
This comes hours after President Donald Trump and his wife, Melania tested positive.
According to Biden’s personal physician, Kevin O’Connor, “Vice President Joe Biden and Dr Jill Biden underwent PCR testing for covid19 today and covid19 was not detected.
“I am reporting this out in my capacity as both Vice President Biden and Dr Biden’s primary care physician.”
President Trump had mocked The former Vice President for always wearing a mask:
On his part, Biden tweeted that “I’m happy to report that Jill and I have tested negative for covid.
“Thank you to everyone for your messages of concern. I hope this serves as a reminder: wear a mask, keep social distance, and wash your hands.”
Meanwhile, Biden will continue his campaign and heading to Michigan on Friday and reporters meant to travel with him have been briefed.
Senator Kamala Harris and husband, Doug Emhoff were also tested today, 2nd of October. Both returned negative according to a close aid and will continue the political campaign to La Vegas.
Earlier today, Joe Biden tweeted best wishes and speedy recovery to the President and his wife.
“Jill and I send our thoughts to President Trum and First Lady Melania Trump for a swift recovery.
“We will continue to pray for the health and safety of the president and his family.”
Biden’s campaign manager, Jen OMeiley Dillion has instructed staffers not to post anything about Trump’s covid19 status.
