Joe Biden has picked Kamala Devi Haris, a Black Woman as running mate. She is a Democratic Senator from the state of California.

Reports say she is the first black woman with Asian lineage to be picked as Vice Presidential candidate to a major party in the history of America.

She will also go down in history as the first woman Vice President if Biden defeats President Donald Trump

Haris is said to also have West Indian Heritage.

Reports say she is the safest choice of running mate among the vice presidential ticket candidates. This is in view of her national profile and experience with elected office. The choice will also boost Biden’s fundraising.

On reasons why he picked Kamala, Biden said, “I need someone who understands the pain that so many people in our nation are suffering. Whether they’ve lost their jobs, their business, a loved one to this virus.”

“This president (referring to Donald Trump), says he doesn’t want to be distracted by it (#COVID19).

“I need someone who understands that we are in a battle for the soul of the nation. And if we are going to get through these crisis…we need to come together and unite for a better America. Kamala gets that.

“I am proud to have Kamal standing with me on this campaign.

Her record of accomplishment … fighting tooth and nail for what’s right … is why I’m choosing her. There’s no door Kamala won’t knock on, no stone she’ll leave unturned, if it means making life better for the people.”
