Nigerian veteran actress, Joke Silva has opened up on her husband, Olu Jacob’s illness.
In a an interview with renowned media personality, Chude Jideonwo, Silva disclosed that her husband is suffering from dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB).
The actress said that prior to the interview, she never discussed the illness publicly with anyone before the interview.
According to her, “This has been going on for a couple of years. My husband is dealing with issues and it’s been going on for a couple of years. It is known as Dementia with Lewy body.
“It is a degenerative disease that affects the brain and it is almost like a Parkinsons type of disease; it affects the brain and it affect the person.
“We have gone through it over the past couple of years but we thank God.
“We have gone through some times and situations recently that I wish I had the old you here so I don’t battle these times on my own but we are grateful for the moment of clarity. I miss the times we worked together. Joke Silva added.
One of the most loved actresses in Nigeria, mrs Jacobs has been in Nollywood for over 40 years.
She revealed that at the age of 10, she discovered by accident that she was adopted at 9 months, when an aunty spilled the beans inadvertently.
The information was shocking to her considering that her adopted parents kept it away from her and treated her in every way like their biological child.
