2 more of over 120 kidnapped students of Bethel Baptist Secondary School in Kaduna State have regained their freedom.
The chairman of the Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Reverend Joseph Hayab confirmed that the students were released on the 28th of December, 2021 and the 1st of January, 2022 respectively.
However, the police is yet to comment on the development.
Bandits invaded the Bethel Baptist Secondary School located at Maraban Damishi in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
The invasion occurred on the 5th of July when the criminals abducted 121 students.
The students were later released in batches after their parents allegedly paid an unspecified amount of money as ransom.
Three of the students remained in captivity afterwards.
With the latest release, 120 students have regained their freedom while only 1 is left in captivity.
