A 2023 Delta State governorship aspirant, Kenneth Okpara is reported dead.
Information reaching us say that the politician died in the early hours of today, Friday, November 19th.
Okpara was a former Commissioner for Economic Planning and Finance. He is said to have died after battling a yet to be disclosed illness.
The deceased is from Eku Kingdom in the Ethiope East Local Government Area of Delta State.
Before his death, he served in the cabinet of the immediate past governor, Emmanuel Uduaghan as Commissioner for Economic Planning, a position he held from September 2011 to July 2013.
Okpara, a staunch member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), was also the Commissioner for Finance from July 2013 to May 2015.
Up till the time of filing this report, we still await details of his demise but information available so far reveal that he had battled the undisclosed ailment for the past 3 years.
However, a top PDP official who spoke to newsmen on conditions of anonymity stated that, “yes, Kenneth Okpara is dead, he died at about 4:00am this morning and that’s all I can say for now. May his should rest in peace.”
