The terrorists that attacked the Abuja-Kaduna train by planting explosives on the rail tracks have released the acting Managing Director/Chief Executive officer of the Bank of Agriculture, Alwan Hassan.
The incident which took place 9 days ago, cost the lives of at least 9 passengers with many injured and hospitalised while a yet to be fully confirmed number were either abducted or unaccounted for.
Hassan has been confirmed as one of those kidnapped in the March 28 attack about 30 minutes to the train’s destination.
Family members had said that the bank chief was last seen boarding the Kaduna-bound train with over 362 passengers and had not been from or found since the terror attack.
In a chat with The Nation, a senior official of the bank said the bank chief was released by his abductors on Wednesday.
Confirming Hassan’s reunion with his family and loved ones, the bank official stated that Hassan’s family and friends are grateful to GOD for the return of their son.
The official, however, declined to disclose if any ransom was paid to the terrorists or how much was paid.
