Aisha Buhari, Nigeria’s First Lady and wife of President Mohammadu Buhari has broken her silence today, the International Women’s Day after months of being away from the country.
She is reported to have relocated to #Dubai., United Arab Emirates since her daughter, Hanan’s wedding in September 2020.
Unconfirmed reports say that Mrs Buhari has no plans of returning to the country anytime soon.
Reports also say she fled the country because she and her family no longer feel secure in the Aso Rock Villa.
In what many consider as a break of silence, and the First Lady sent a message to Nigerian Women in a statement personally signed by her today, 8th March.
Titled “Message of the First Lady, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr Aisah Muhammadu Buhari, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, 2021,” Aisha Buhari celebrated the Nigerian Woman.
She said that this year’s theme is a strong call to appreciate the efforts of women and girls in the fight against the covid19 pandemic.
She condemned the recent abduction of school girls at the Government Girls Secondary School in Jangebe, Zamfara State.
Aisha Buhari also asked stakeholders to use their influence to bring an end to the kidnappings and and ensure that girls are safe anywhere they find themselves.
