Another Oyo State monarch, the Onijeru of Ijeru land, Oba Elijah Olaniyi Popoola is dead.
The traditional ruler joined his ancestors on Friday at the age of 85 after a brief illness.
The death of Oba Popoola comes after the death of several other prominent traditional rulers in the state.
The Onijeru of Ijeru land is in the Ogbomoso South Local government area of Oyo state
Reports say that the monarch was crowned in 2008.
In the last six months, Oyo State has recorded the deaths of at least seven traditional rulers.
Some of the traditional rulers include Onigbeti, Soun of Ogbomoso, Olubadan of Ibadan land and Alaafin of Oyo, among others.
