The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected Abdullahi Ganduje, former Kano governor, as the party’s national chairman.
Also elected as national secretary is Ajibola Basiru, the former senate spokesperson.
The officials were elected today, Thursday during the party’s 12th NEC meeting which held at the Congress Hall of Transcorp Hilton in Abuja.
President Bola Tinubu and Vice-President Kashim Shettima, attended the meeting.
Also, present at the NEC meeting were members of the Progressive Governors’ Forum (PGF) and members of the national assembly, among others.
The immediate past President, Muhammadu Buhari and former Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo sent messages ahead of the meeting that they would not be attending due to earlier commitments.
However, Bisi Akande, the party’s first national chairman, was present.
The party held its national caucus meeting on Wednesday.
