The Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU) has extended the warning strike it embarked upon 4 weeks ago, by another 2 months.
The trade union body’s National Executive Council (NEC) met in Abuja over the weekend to discuss the outcome of the one-month strike as wells the way forward.
This, they said is in view of the fact that it was not receiving any positive response from the Federal Government with regards to its demands.
The union then resolved to extend its industrial action by 2 more months.
However, ASUU has not issued any public statement yet on its decision from the meeting held at an undisclosed location, but a source told Vanguard that members had all agreed on the extension.
Details of the meeting are still being drafted and will be made available to newsmen as soon as possible, the source said.
