President Muhammadu Buhari has sent a letter to the senate with a list of nominations for the replacement of ministers who resigned to run for the 2023 Presidential election.
Just before the commencement of the APC primary election, the president issued a directive to all government appointees contesting the election to resign.
While some ministers withdrew from the presidential race others, including Rotimi Amaechi, Godswill Akpabio, Ogbonnaya Onu, continued with their political ambitions.
The president said in the letter sent to the Senate President Ahmed Lawan on Tuesday, that the nominees would replace the former ministers that resigned from his cabinet.
The letter read: “In accordance with Section 8 Subsection 2 of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended, I hereby forward the under-listed ministerial nominees for your confirmation.”
The nominees are:
1. Henry Ikechukwu Ikoh – Abia State
2. Umana Okon Umana – Akwa Ibom State
3. Egwumakama Joseph Nkama – Ebonyi State
4. Goodluck Nnana Opiah – Imo State
5. Umar Ibrahim El-Yakub – Kano State
6. Ademola Adewole Adegoroye – Ondo State
7. Odum Odih – Rivers State
