The popular Dosunmu Market located in Lagos Island has been engulfed by fire.
The fire is said to have broken out on Tuesday morning.
According to a video shared on X (Twitter), it is alleged that the fire was caused by a generator explosion.
“Just in guys, Eko Idumota (Dosunmu) Market on fire due to generator explosion, and no firefighters in sight yet,” the X user, simply identified as Adunni, claimed.
“The fire keeps going up. People are running for safety,” she added.
Officials of the state emergency management agency had a hard time accessing the scene due to the crowd that gathered at the sight.
