Otunba Christopher Alao Akala, a former Governor of Oyo State is dead. He died in the early hours of today, Wednesday, 12th January, 2022.
Precise details of his death have not been fully disclosed as at press time.
Akala, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, was a former governor of Oyo State, between 2007 and 2011.
He was also a deputy governor under former governor, Rashidi Ladoja between 2003 and 2006, when Chief Ladoja was impeached, he became the acting governor for eleven months.
Born on the 3rd of June, 1950 at Ogbomoso in Oyo State, Akala had his elementary education at Osupa Baptist Day School, Ogbomosho before proceeding to Kamina Barracks Middle School, 5th Battalion of Infantry in Tamale, Ghana.
