A former Acting Military Administrator / Governor of Rivers State, Col Charles Edemenaha (rtd) is dead.
The eldest son of the late MILAD who made this known in a statement said his father died recently at Orerokpe, headquarters of Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.
Kenneth said his father died at the age of 87 after a brief illness.
According to him, the death of the late Governor has thrown the Okpe Kingdom where he served as secretary to the Udogun Okpe and Okpe Traditional Council of Chiefs into mourning.
He added in his statement that late Chief Col Edemenaha (rtd) served the late Okpe monarch, HRM Orhoro I and the current one, HRM Orhue I, the Orodje of Okpe Kingdom in the same capacity as Secretary to Udogun Okpe and Okpe Traditional Council of Chiefs.
He described his father as a pragmatic and visionary leader who served the nation and the Okpe Kingdom faithfully.
According to him, “His demise is not only a great loss to the Okpe kingdom and Delta State, but to the country in general.”
Okpe is a kingdom in Delta State, Nigeria. Today, it is also the name of a local government area. It is one of the many kingdoms that make up Urhobo tribe. Its capital is Orerokpe.
