Nigeria,’s former Deputy Senate President and chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ibrahim Mantu is dead.
Reports say he died this morning, Tuesday, 17th of August after a brief illness.
The former senator representing Plateau Central Senatorial District is said to have fallen ill about 9 days ago and was receiving treatment at home.
He was later rushed to the Diff Hospital in Abuja where he died.
Family sources say that a funeral prayer will be held today and that funeral arrangements are being put together.Ibrahim Mantu was born on the 16th of February 1947 in the old Plateau State.

Senator Ibrahim Mantu is a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and General Patron, Bida Hall, University of Lagos.
The late politician was honoured as Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR)
