Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State has sacked 19 of his political appointees in spite of growing public outrage over his sacking of thousands of civil servants.
In defence his policy, the governor said he could not continue to spend over 80% of state allocation from the federation account paying salaries of civil servants and political appointees.
Among the political appointees affected are the Deputy Chief of Staff and 2 special advisers.
On his Twitter page this afternoon, El-Rufai thanked the sacked officers and wished them well in their future endeavours.
