Unknown gunmen have kidnapped Mrs Seriya Raji, the mother of Jamiu Asuku, Chief of Staff to the Governor of Kogi State.
Reports say that the gunmen invaded the residence of Mrs Raji in Adavi on Monday evening and whisked her away to an unknown destination.
A resident of the of Inese/Ovakere new layout in Nagazi community, Adavi Local Government Area where the captive lives said the assailants stormed her residence at about 7:40pm shortly after she observed evening (Ishai) prayer.
The kidnappers, according to the source were about 6 in number and dressed in black suits wore masks and were holding ‘Ghana must go’ bags.The bags are suspected to have contained dangerous weapons.
He added that they entered her house through the mosque and led her away to an unknown destination using the vehicle they came with.
Reporters say that efforts to reach the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO William Aya for confirmation proved abortive as at the time of this report.
There has been rising insecurity in Kogi State in recent times with serial abductions in Kabba-Bunu-Ijunu, Mop Amuro and Adavi LGAs in addition to a jail break in Kabba Correctional Centre.
Residents say that the state is certainly under siege currently.
