Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State reports that Mohammed Hayatu-Deen has stepped down for Atiku Abubakar in the ongoing primary election head of the race for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’ presidential ticket.
Earlier reports say that Hayatu-Deen had announced he was withdrawing from the race, citing monetization of the process
However, he did not disclose if he was back any other aspirant.
Speaking to Channels Television on the sidelines of the PDP’s National Convention in Abuja on Saturday, Fintiri said: “Hayatu-Deen has stepped down for him (Atiku).
Speaking further, Fintiri said that “I think he has stepped down for him. He has instructed his delegates to vote for Atiku.”
He expressed hope that the former Vice President would emerge as the PDP’s presidential candidate for the 2023 election.
