JUST IN ! Massive Gas Leakage at Computer Village and Oba Akran (video)

An emergency has been announced by the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) as massive gas leakage has been reported within popular Computer Village, Oba Akran, Lagos State Teaching Hospital and Mobolaji Bank Anthony areas of Ikeja, Lagos.

Safety operations have been activated as fire trucks and fire-fighters are seen on ground trying to avert a major catastrophe.

TVC News announced that the source of the gas supply has been turned while NEMA has warned all traders, commuters and residents to evacuate immediately until normalcy returns.

NEMA Acting Cordinator, Lagos State Territory, Ibrahim Farinloye confirmed the development a few minutes ago and urged residents around Computer Village/Underbridge, Awolowo Way, Oba Akran, Anifowose Street and Medical Road to avoid contact with naked fire.

Farinloye added that the agency received distress alerts about the incident some minutes ago and immediately activated its emergency machinery.

According to him, “Residents around Computer Village Underbridge, Awolowo Way and Oba Akran Axis, Anifowose Street, Medical Road must not open shops or use open naked fire for safety reasons.

“Distress alerts just received indicate massive leakage of gas pipeline around these areas.

“Let us take utmost safety precautions.” He said.

Liquefied petroleum gas (LPGLP gas, or condensate), is a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases such as propane and butane.
