A notorious Boko Haram terrorist commander, Amir Adamu Ruga Ruga has surrendered to the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in Gwoza Local Government Area of Borno State.
Amir became notorious for his attacks against military men and travellers around Mandara hill and Sambisa forest in Gwoza area.
A military source is quoted as saying he surrendered with his 3 wives and children in Gwoza town.
A resident of Gwoza told newsmen that Amir is well known in the town.
According to him, “All praise to Almighty Allah, the famous Boko Haram, Amir Adamu Ruga Ruga surrendered today in Gwoza town. Karshen BH yazo Insha Allah.”
The Nigerian military in a statement earlier released adduced the spate of surrender of the terrorists to sustained air and land bombardments of their hideouts in the North East.
