Nigeria’s Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been hospitalized today Saturday.

Reports say he underwent surgery on a leg injury,

This was made known by his spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a statement on his verified Twitter handle.

Akande said that, “the surgery became necessary because of recurrent pain in the leg from an injury possibly while playing squash.

“VP Osinabjo is in the hospital today for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash. His doctors would give an update of the treatment later today.’’

The news was corroborated in a tweet by a former Personal Aide to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad.

He said:

VP Osinbajo is in the hospital today for a surgical procedure on account of a recurrent pain in the leg possibly sustained from an injury while playing squash. His doctors would give an update of the treatment later today.
