A tanker carrying petrol, better known as premium motor spirit, again, exploded this morning at the Araromi Town area before the Interchange, on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
The explosion which caused traffic gridlock on and around the expressway as motorists abandoned their vehicles to scamper to safety.
The Ogun Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) is at the scene trying to control the situation.
FRSC advised motorists to make use of alternative routes to avoid unnecessary delays.
Three vehicles including a bus loaded with passengers are said to have been completely razed.
“The rescue operation is still on and the people involved are yet to be confirmed because a bus is also involved.
“The crash scene cordoned off to avoid a secondary crash, and traffic has been diverted,” the commission said.
The commission also urged motorists to remain calm and cooperate with traffic managers managing the situation.
