Reports just received say that Nigerian soldiers have repelled an attack this morning by bandits on Faith Academy in Kaduna.
The school is located at Mararaban Roni in Chukun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
It is is a branch of the chain of schools owned by Bishop David Oyedepo, Founder and Chancellor of Covenant University, Living Faith Church Worldwide (also known and Winners Chapel) as well as Faith Academy group of schools.
This comes a few hours after the news of the kidnapping of students of Bethel Baptist School, also in the early hours of Monday.
Reports say that the bandits broke the perimeter fence of the school to gain access before soldiers descended on them.
A parent of one of the students said that the school authorities had planned to relocate some of the children to an undisclosed location to enable them adequately prepare for their exams before the attack took place.
She commended the soldiers for responding promptly saying that her and his colleagues were in the hostel when the gunmen stormed their premises. All the students have since been evacuated.
The Public Relations Officer of the Kaduna State Police Command, ASP Mohammed Julie said that he could not confirm details but that security agents were fully occupied foiling bandits attacks throughout the night.
