It was reign of terror again as gunmen suspected to be bandits, on Wednesday night, attacked Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
At the town’s Folahami Junction axis, where Craneburg Construction Company was located, the gunmen were said to have laid a deadly siege and opened fire on everyone in sight.
Sources say that the terrorists set off explosive devices that went off sporadically.
About 2 months ago, suspected terrorists attacked St. Francis Catholic Church in the town murdering no less than 40 worshippers.
With the exact number of casualties yet to be determined, many people were said to be injured in the attack.
Last night’s incident was confirmed by the Police Public Relations Officer for the Command, PPRO, SP Funmilayo Odunlami, who also stated that a number of persons were injured in the invasion.
She added that it was still unknown if the perpetrators were terrorists or merely bandits.
